Basestar Type-C

The Basestar Type-C was a type of warship used by the Cylons at the end of the Cylon War. "Type-C" is a reference term rather than an on-screen name. It closely resembled the modern basestar in appearance, though it bore a more industrial look in place of the organic form of the later type, and it was the first known basestar to carry a Hybrid. Design#

In appearance the Type-C closely resembled the modern basestar, but with a more industrial look in contrast to the organic form of that later type. Its most notable distinction was the first Hybrid, which was integrated into the ship's systems, foreshadowing the Hybrid-run baseships of the Fall. The ship still carried Raiders of the old Cylon War pattern, but the series doesn't detail its armament. (Razor)

History#

During Operation Raptor Talon, a Colonial attack on an ice planet said to hide a Cylon superweapon, Lieutenant William Adama was shot down and found a facility where the Cylons were experimenting on human prisoners. As the facility began to collapse he watched a new kind of basestar launch from the planet, and soon learned that an armistice had been signed. (Razor Flashbacks; Razor)

That ship became the Guardian basestar. A faction of old-model Centurions, who broke away rather than be replaced by newer models, escaped with it and the first Hybrid they revered. Forty years later, after the Guardians captured a Colonial science team, Pegasus jumped in and attacked, and Major Kendra Shaw destroyed the basestar with a nuclear device after speaking with the Hybrid.
