Lore Fortress wouldn’t exist without the people who built and preserved the canon we write about. Here is who.
Bionicle
The Bionicle canon is largely the work of Greg Farshtey, who wrote almost the entire extended fiction across the comics, the novels, and the long run of online serials between 2001 and 2011. Without his BZPower Q&A archive and the post-2010 serials, half of what makes Bionicle’s lore deep would never have existed. We build every reference entry around what he wrote.
The story team and creative leads at the LEGO Group built the foundation: Bob Thompson, Christian Faber, Alastair Swinnerton, and the design teams in Billund. Christopher Knight wrote some of the early fiction. Carlos D’Anda did much of the early concept art that defined the visual canon.
For our research we rely on BIONICLEsector01 (BS01), the community-run reference wiki that has been maintaining the canon for two decades. We disagree with their summaries occasionally, but the corpus they preserved is the reason this site is possible. Specific gratitude to the BS01 archivists who transcribed the serials before the BZPower forum decay rendered them harder to find.
We also draw on BioMediaProject for the comic and audiobook archive. The Bionicle Fandom wiki gets cited where its categorical structure is useful, though we try to verify against primary sources before relying on it.
Star Wars (forthcoming)
The forthcoming Star Wars reference will draw on Wookieepedia and the official Lucasfilm canon database, with primary citations to the novels (Del Rey, Disney·Lucasfilm Press), the comics (Marvel, Dark Horse), the films, the streaming series, the games, and the reference titles (Visual Encyclopedia, Cross- Sections, etc.).
StarCraft (forthcoming)
The StarCraft reference will draw on Liquipedia and the StarCraft Wiki with primary citations to Blizzard’s in-game canon, the novels (Pocket Star, Simon & Schuster), the StarCraft II expansion outline material, the comics, and the official source-book material from Blizzard itself.
Battlestar Galactica (forthcoming)
The Battlestar Galactica reference focuses on the reimagined series, drawing on the Battlestar Wiki with primary citations to the miniseries, the four seasons, the television films, and the official companion material.
Dune (forthcoming)
The Dune reference covers the novels’ universe, drawing on the Dune Wiki with primary citations to Frank Herbert’s novels, the later Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson titles, and the official companion material.
God of War (forthcoming)
The God of War reference covers both the Greek and Norse sagas, drawing on the God of War Wiki with primary citations to the games developed by Santa Monica Studio, their in-game lore, and the official companion material.
Mass Effect (forthcoming)
The Mass Effect reference covers the galaxy of the original trilogy, drawing on the Mass Effect Wiki with primary citations to the games developed by BioWare, their in-game codex, and the official companion material.
Dead Space (forthcoming)
The Dead Space reference covers the survival-horror saga of the Markers and the Necromorph outbreaks, drawing on the Dead Space Wiki with primary citations to the games developed by Visceral Games and Motive Studio, their in-game logs, and the official companion material.
Software
This site runs on Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and MDX. We host and deploy through Vercel. Search uses a client-side index against the static article catalogue. RSS, sitemaps, OpenGraph images, and structured data are generated at build time.
Editorial drafts pass through a custom Node and Python pipeline backed by Anthropic’s Claude. The pipeline does source-grounded generation, style validation, and quote verification before any draft reaches a human reviewer. The source for that pipeline lives in the project’s scripts directory and is documented in PIPELINE.md.
