Botanical Cruiser

The Botanical Cruiser was a civilian liner of the Twelve Colonies, a vessel of the Botanical Cruiser-type built around a central hull ringed with several bio-domes. During the Fall of the Twelve Colonies President Laura Roslin went aboard while gathering a convoy of survivors, but the ship had no FTL drive and could not escape the Cylon attack. Design#

The Botanical Cruiser was a civilian liner of the Botanical Cruiser-type. Her hull was made up of a central body with several bio-domes alongside it, the arrangement that gave the class its name, and the domes held gardens and greenery. The ship Roslin visited had sublight engines only. (Battlestar Galactica (2003 miniseries))

The Fall of the Twelve Colonies#

During the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, newly sworn-in President Laura Roslin visited the Botanical Cruiser while gathering surviving civilian ships around Caprica. She met the captain and crew to learn what they needed, and among the passengers she met a young girl named Cami and her grandmother. When Cylon Raiders closed in, the ships with FTL drives were forced to jump away, leaving the Botanical Cruiser and the other sublight ships behind to be destroyed. A second Botanical Cruiser, this one fitted with an FTL drive, did survive the attack and joined Galactica's fleet. It stayed with the survivors all the way to Earth, where it was among the ships sent into the Sun. (Battlestar Galactica, "33"; Battlestar Galactica, "Daybreak, Part II")
