A long bladed tail helped it balance while climbing or moving over treacherous surfaces.

Its hide was covered in spines that protected it from attack. When threatened it could also defend itself by curling into a ball, exposing its foreclaws, bladed tail, and spiny hide all at once. Before attacking, it usually gave a guttural hissing to warn whatever had provoked it.
