By Joe Garratt

Baah Pakal was a civilian ship that escaped the Fall of the Twelve Colonies and joined the refugee fleet of surviving vessels from the United Colonies of Kobol. It carried roughly six hundred and sixty five crew and passengers, and a pair of unused engines stored aboard it later found a second life in one of the Fleet's most unusual craft.

A ship of the Fleet#

Baah Pakal was among the civilian vessels that fled the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies and gathered into the refugee fleet. With a complement of about six hundred and sixty five, it joined the long flight through deep space, and almost a year after the Fall its passengers took part in the Colonial presidential election.

The DDG-62 engines#

The Baah Pakal carried a pair of unused DDG-62 engines that had never been put into service. These engines were later given over and used in the construction of the Blackbird, the stealth fighter built within the Fleet, putting the ship's spare power plants to work in one of the Colonials' most distinctive craft.
