Who was Darius in Caprica?#

He was Amanda Graystone's brother, and by the time the audience meets him he has been dead for years and exists only as something his sister sees. (Caprica, "The Imperfections of Memory"; Caprica, "Ghosts in the Machine")

Beyond a glimpse of him as a boy beside a young Amanda, the crash is the whole of his recorded life. Amanda walked away from it, which is the part that broke her, and the nervous breakdown that followed came with Darius in it constantly. Were the visions of Darius a sign?#

Amanda and Clarice Willow both entertained the idea, and the reason they did was a run of coincidences rather than the visions themselves. (Caprica, "The Imperfections of Memory")

Three things happened close together. Amanda saw her brother standing at the scene of a car crash in the streets of Caprica City. That sighting led her to a painting of the very place where he had died. And the convalescent institute where she had spent two and a half years chose that moment to send her a letter asking for a donation. (Caprica, "The Imperfections of Memory")
