Service with the fleet#
The Monarch joined the Galactica-led fleet in the aftermath of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. During the rift between President Laura Roslin and then-Commander William Adama, the Monarch was among twenty-four vessels that broke away to follow the president to Kobol, a movement bound up with the return of Lieutenant Kara Thrace.
Later that year the ship took part in the presidential election and in the settlement of New Caprica. It is unknown whether the Monarch itself set down on the planet, though some of its crew were later sentenced to death by the secret tribunal known as The Circle.
The Monarch survived the exodus to its end and was scuttled by Samuel T. Anders when the surviving ships were flown into the Sol System.
