Majahual was a Monarch-type mining vessel that joined the Battlestar Galactica-led refugee fleet following the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. A sister ship to the Monarch, it took up mining operations on a tylium-rich asteroid field captured from the Cylons and became the focus of a prolonged defensive operation against a lone Cylon Raider nicknamed "Scar." The ship survived the fleet's long journey and was eventually scuttled in the Sol system.
History#
Majahual joined the Galactica-led ragtag fleet following the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. After the Battle of the Tylium refinery, in which the Colonial Fleet managed to take a tylium-rich asteroid from the Cylons, the Majahual began mining operations. It is unknown whether the ship had any knowledge of the conflict between President Laura Roslin and then-Commander William Adama, during which almost a third of the fleet separated from Galactica and jumped to Kobol.
The hunt for Scar#
Stationed in Sector 2-5-9, the Majahual mined the tylium-rich asteroid field while being terrorized by a lone Cylon Raider nicknamed "Scar." The threat forced the Colonial Fleet to redeploy Galactica to provide around-the-clock combat air patrol over the ship and the surrounding area, an operation that cost the lives of many Colonial pilots before the Raider was defeated.
Later service and fate#
Later that year the ship participated in the presidential election and the subsequent settling of New Caprica, though it is unknown whether Majahual itself landed on the planet. The ship ultimately survived the exodus from New Caprica and was scuttled by Samuel T. Anders when it was flown into Sol.
