The results explained#

William Adama#

Adama flew Vipers in the Cylon War and never trusted networked computers afterwards, which left Galactica untouched when the Cylons crippled the rest of the fleet. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries) He took command of the survivors and led them with Roslin through the Pegasus standoff and the occupation of New Caprica. (Battlestar Galactica, seasons 2 and 3) After the fleet settled the new Earth, he buried Roslin there and stayed by her grave. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4)

Laura Roslin#

Roslin was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer on the day of the attack and sworn in when everyone ahead of her in the line of succession was dead. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries) Her choices included destroying the Olympic Carrier and rigging an election against Gaius Baltar. (Battlestar Galactica, seasons 1 and 2) She died on a Raptor flight over the new Earth, fulfilling the prophecy of the dying leader. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4)

Kara "Starbuck" Thrace#

Kara fell in love with Zak Adama, passed him through flight training despite his lack of skill, and his death haunted her. (Battlestar Galactica, season 1) She chased a Raider into a storm and her Viper imploded, seemingly killing her, but a figure with her face and memories came back claiming to have seen Earth. (Battlestar Galactica, season 3) At the end, she entered the coordinates that took the fleet to its new home. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4)

Lee "Apollo" Adama#

Lee blamed his father for pushing his brother Zak into the military, and the two clashed and supported each other in turn as Lee served as Galactica's CAG. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries; Battlestar Galactica, season 1) He joined Gaius Baltar's defence team at his trial, then rose to Vice President under Roslin. (Battlestar Galactica, seasons 3 and 4) Once the fleet reached its new home, it was his plan to give up their technology and settle the planet. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4)

Gaius Baltar#

Seduced by a Number Six he thought worked in defence, Baltar gave her access to the mainframe, and she used it to let the Cylons disable the fleet. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries) He won the presidency on a promise to settle New Caprica, then surrendered the colony to the Cylons. (Battlestar Galactica, seasons 2 and 3) He later became a religious leader, confessed his guilt, and helped broker the truce that ended the war. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4)

Number Six#

Number Six Cylons were noted as more individualist than other models, often changing their looks and taking their own names, and many infiltrated Colonial society before the Fall. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries; Battlestar Galactica, season 2) When the Sixes argued for welcoming the Final Five back, the dispute set off the Cylon Civil War. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4) They later voted to settle a new world without technology. (Battlestar Galactica, season 4)

Saul Tigh#

Tigh took interim command after Adama was shot and declared martial law. (Battlestar Galactica, season 2) On New Caprica he led the resistance and lost an eye to torture, and he poisoned his wife Ellen after she betrayed it. (Battlestar Galactica, season 3) Discovering he was one of the Final Five didn't stop him seeing himself as a Colonial officer. (Battlestar Galactica, seasons 3 and 4)

Sharon "Athena" Agathon#

Athena was sent to make Helo fall in love with her on occupied Caprica, fell for him herself, and helped him escape. (Battlestar Galactica, season 1) Back with the fleet she was jailed and distrusted, but earned trust by turning a Cylon virus against an attacking Raider force. (Battlestar Galactica, season 2) She went on to fly some of the fleet's most important Raptor missions and got her daughter Hera back. (Battlestar Galactica, season 3)

Frequently asked questions

Which characters can I get?
Eight: William Adama, Laura Roslin, Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, Lee "Apollo" Adama, Gaius Baltar, Number Six, Saul Tigh and Sharon "Athena" Agathon. Each one comes up five times across the answers, so they're all equally likely.
Is this about the 1978 show or the 2004 one?
The 2004 reimagined series and its miniseries. Several names carry over from the original show, but the characters here are the newer versions.
Does it spoil the series?
The questions don't. The result descriptions do mention big turns, including who turns out to be a Cylon and how some characters end up, so finish the show first if you care.
