The Energy Siphon Blade, formally the Nihu-Motara Energy Siphon Blade, was a weapon capable of absorbing and using a being's life force. Forged on XiaXiaA hostile island southeast of Metru Nui, home to the Vortixx and their brutal mercenary culture., it drew raw strength from whatever it touched and channelled that stolen energy along its own edge, weakening its target while empowering itself.

Origin and testing#

Orders for the Nihu-Motara Energy Siphon Blade were placed shortly before the Great CataclysmThe Great CataclysmThe day Makuta Teridax put the Great Spirit to sleep, the Great Spirit Robot fell from the sky, Metru Nui flooded, and Voya Nui tore loose from the Southern Continent.. Function#

The blade carried a series of prongs at its tip. When scraped against, stabbed into, or even firmly pressed against a being, those prongs absorbed its raw strength and energy at once, powering the sword while weakening the opponent. Limits#

The weapon was not without disadvantages. Testing on the Toa of Water showed it highly effective against beings of low or average strength, but testing on the Toa of Stone showed that it could draw only so much from the stronger elements, with Stone, Earth, and Iron offering a greater resistance to its pull.
