It began in a fan project that writer Greg Farshtey approved, and its one appearance in official media is on an unnamed MatoranMatoranThe most abundant species in the Matoran Universe, chosen by Mata Nui to inhabit and maintain his cosmic body. in Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive.. Function#

Under the rules Farshtey approved, the Mask of Rebounding lets its user make a projectile come back to them after it has been thrown at and hit a target. It works on objects that don't explode or fragment. The return uses a small amount of telekinesis, so the harder the user concentrates on the object, the more accurate the rebound. Limits#

Tactical applications#

In principle, a wearer could throw a disk, blade or spear, have it come back after the strike, and throw again without crossing open ground to fetch it.
