The Turbines are a pair of underwater tools designed for propulsion and transport. Kivoda wielded them first, and they later became part of Gali's gear in the 2015 reboot. As equipment goes, they're straightforward in design, built for a specific job in specific environments. The fact that they moved between users across different continuities suggests the designers saw them as worth preserving rather than reinventing.

The Turbines work as underwater propulsion devices, letting their wielders move fast through water. For warriors fighting in aquatic environments, that speed determines whether you maintain control of a battle or get caught off guard. They're the kind of tool that does one thing well rather than trying to be versatile. You don't bring propulsion equipment unless you expect to actually move.

Users and History#

Kivoda wielded the Turbines in the original timeline. They passed to Gali when the world rebooted in 2015, continuing as underwater transportation equipment. The fact they survived the reboot at all suggests the designers viewed them as important to water-based mechanics in the Bionicle universe.
