Executive Shuttle USG-09: The Ishimura Escape Craft
The Executive Shuttle USG-09 was a private shuttle reserved for the executives of the USG Ishimura. Sabotaged during the outbreak, it became the craft Isaac Clarke repaired to return Marker 3A to Aegis VII.
The Executive Shuttle USG-09 was a space shuttle reserved for the executives aboard the mining vessel USG Ishimura. During the Necromorph outbreak it became central to the efforts of Dr. Terrence Kyne and Isaac Clarke to return Marker 3A to its pedestal on Aegis VII, and later carried Isaac off the doomed planet.
Sabotage#
The USG-09 was an exclusive shuttle reserved for the Ishimura's executives. Before Isaac Clarke arrived on the crew deck, someone had destroyed the shuttle's singularity core, rendering it inoperable. The sabotage explained why the craft had not been ejected from the ship or hijacked by fleeing survivors. Dr. Terrence Kyne became intent on returning the shuttle to working order so that he could carry Marker 3A back to its pedestal on Aegis VII, and to that end he enlisted the help of Isaac Clarke.
Repair and recall#
After Isaac recovered a singularity core from the military vessel USM Valor, Kyne granted him access to the damaged shuttle and instructed him to repair it while Kyne distracted Dr. Challus Mercer. Once the core was installed, the engines still required testing before the shuttle could leave the Ishimura. While Isaac ran those tests, the Hunter ambushed him, and only after the creature was driven off did Kyne pilot the shuttle out of the ship to await Isaac's retrieval of the Marker.
After Marker 3A had been placed in the shuttle's cargo hold, Kendra Daniels shot Kyne in the chest and left Isaac behind on the ship. Before she could escape, Isaac was guided by a hallucination of Nicole Brennan to the Flight Control Room, where he issued the emergency shuttle recall signal that brought the craft back to the Ishimura. Kendra abandoned the shuttle through an escape pod before it re entered the ship.
Escaping Aegis VII#
Following Isaac's battle with the Hive Mind on Aegis VII, he was forced to flee the planet in haste as the tectonic mass the Ishimura had removed during the planet crack fell back toward the colony. Isaac escaped the planet's gravity in the USG-09 only to witness the mass strike the surface in a blinding explosion. The shuttle then drifted for three weeks before two EarthGov agents, Maxmillian Reinhardt and Xander Sklar, learned that a pleasure cruiser had picked up its distress signal in the Yothei System and began preparations to board it.
