Alex Boxman

Boxey was a child refugee of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. The son of the Colonial Fleet officer who was killed at Armistice Station just before the attacks, he was evacuated from Caprica and taken aboard the Galactica, where he lived among the crew in the first weeks after the Fall. The full name Alex Boxman comes from the tie-in novel Sagittarius Is Bleeding, which isn't part of the show's canon and also calls him Andrew Boxman. The series itself only ever calls him Boxey. (Sagittarius Is Bleeding)

Escape from Caprica#

Boxey was on Caprica when the Cylon nuclear bombardment began. When Lieutenants Sharon Valerii and Karl Agathon set their Raptor down after the attack, a crowd of survivors flocked to it. The Raptor couldn't carry them all, so the children were taken and a lottery chose a handful of adults, and Boxey was among those flown out. His father, the officer at Armistice Station, had died when the Cylons returned. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries)

Life aboard the Galactica#

Boxey was taken in by Galactica's crew and seen eating with Valerii and the other pilots. Later he followed Kara Thrace around, copying her attitude with Colonel Saul Tigh, and told Tigh that his mother was dead. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries; Battlestar Galactica, "Bastille Day")

Cut scenes from "Water" gave him a bigger part. In them, Boxey finds a rag in Sharon "Boomer" Valerii's locker carrying the residue she picked up while planting the bombs in the water tanks, visits Boomer with Chief Galen Tyrol, and tries to sell ambrosia he got from an engineer to the pilots. At the end, Tyrol finds Boxey with the rag and recognises the residue from the tanks. None of this aired, and the broadcast story of the sabotage of the Galactica's reserve water tanks plays out without him. (Deleted scenes from "Water")
