When the Cylons destroyed the Twelve Colonies, Aurora was among the FTL-capable civilian craft that escaped and assembled into the refugee fleet protected by Galactica. It was still in the fleet at the presidential election, when it was listed on the master tally board aboard Galactica. (Battlestar Galactica, "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II")
Later, while both were undergoing cancer treatment, Emily Kowalski offered Laura Roslin a scarf made by Leslie Starus, a resident of Aurora. The ship's name was shared with the goddess of the dawn, whose winged figurine Kara Thrace received from the oracle in Dogsville. (Battlestar Galactica, "Faith"; "Maelstrom")
