Ahead of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, this Number One was on Caprica, where Caprica-Six handed him the access codes to the Colonial defense mainframe hours before the attack. Infiltrating the resistance#
While working alongside a group of Number Fives transporting human corpses for incineration, the Number One realised that surviving humans were operating in the area as a resistance. He fell to the ground to imitate one of the victims, and with the ruse working he was taken in by the survivors. He was stunned to find that the resistance was led by Samuel T. Anders, one of the Final Five, and stayed with the fighters, a Cylon agent at the heart of the Caprican insurgency who kept putting off betraying them.
