Caprica Cavil was a Number One model humanoid Cylon who moved among humans under the guise of a Polytheist priest. He was the copy of the model that operated on Caprica before and after the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, and his infiltration of the human resistance on the ruined world made him one of the more dangerous individual Number Ones of the war.

Mission to Caprica#

Ahead of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, this Number One traveled to Caprica to secure crucial information on the Command Navigation Program. After the colony was devastated by nuclear bombardment, he returned to the surface to oversee the clean-up that was to precede Cylon colonisation of the conquered world.

Infiltrating the resistance#

While working alongside a group of Number Fives transporting human corpses for incineration, the Number One realised that surviving humans were operating in the area as a resistance. He fell to the ground to imitate one of the victims, and with the ruse working he was taken in by the survivors. He joined the human resistance in order to remain close to Samuel T. Anders, placing a Cylon agent at the heart of the Caprican insurgency.
