The Number Fives were a model of humanoid Cylon, all of whom went by the name Aaron Doral. Created at some point after 1960, millions of identical individuals were produced, each sharing the same personality, with memories uploaded to a central processing facility and shared across the model. Like the other humanoid models, the Fives were represented in the Cylon political process by a single individual. They are believed extinct following the Cylon Civil War.
Nature#
The Number Fives were one of the humanoid Cylon models, produced in vast numbers from a single template. Every Five shared the same personality and uploaded his memories to a central processing facility, where they were pooled and shared among the others. Because of this shared identity, all members of the model took the same name, Aaron Doral, and a single individual stood in for the entire model in Cylon political affairs.
Infiltration and the Fall#
A number of Fives worked their way into human society as agents in the lead-up to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. One secured a public relations role that placed him aboard Galactica, a battlestar close to decommissioning and lacking the networking common to other ships. Possibly for that reason, he was able to install a transponder in the CIC two weeks before the attacks, allowing Cylon forces to track Galactica to Ragnar. This Five was discovered and abandoned on Ragnar, where he was later recovered by fellow Cylons.
Another Five escaped the Fall aboard a civilian ship that carried him to the refugee fleet led by Galactica. He quickly joined a terrorist cell led by a Number One. On learning that the humans were aware of the humanoid Cylons and that his infiltration skills were compromised, he donned a suicide vest packed with stolen explosives and killed himself in a bombing aboard Galactica.
The Occupation of New Caprica#
During the Occupation of New Caprica, the Fives served in public relations roles on behalf of the Baltar administration. One acted as a recruiter for the New Caprica Police, handpicking civilians he judged easy to manipulate. Another discussed with President Gaius Baltar how an increase in the toilet paper supply might improve his poll ratings.
The Cylon Civil War#
In the lead-up to the Cylon Civil War, the Fives supported the boxing of the Number Three models, which rendered simple majorities impossible. Months later they backed an act to lobotomize the Raiders, which had refused to fight humanity after sensing the Final Five within the fleet. The measure passed by simple majority only because of a rebelling Number Eight, an outcome never considered legal. This Number Five was killed in a Centurion rebellion after the Twos, Sixes, and Eights took over entire basestars. The model is believed extinct thereafter.
