Shelly Godfrey

Shelly Godfrey was a humanoid Cylon of the Number Six model who became part of a plot to discredit Dr. Gaius Baltar. (Battlestar Galactica, "Six Degrees of Separation"; Battlestar Galactica: The Plan)

Infiltration#

Godfrey set out to infiltrate Colonial society, though it is uncertain what she did during this period. Although she would later claim to be a defence department worker, this may have been entirely a fabrication. (Battlestar Galactica, "Six Degrees of Separation"; Battlestar Galactica: The Plan)

Godfrey escaped the fall of the Twelve Colonies aboard a transport ship that was in orbit over Canceron when the attack began. She knew of Dr. Amarak, whom she later claimed as a lover, and of his suspicion that the Command Navigation Program written by Baltar had been compromised. Once the refugee fleet escaped the Cyrannus Star System, Godfrey moved onto Galactica, where she joined a cell under the command of the Cylon known as Galactica Cavil, who met his agents in a chapel deep inside the ship. The plot against Baltar#

With Baltar at work on a Cylon detector, Godfrey's task was to discredit him and his test, and she used her knowledge of Amarak to do it. She held the advantage because Baltar could not explain why she might be a Cylon without exposing his relationship with Caprica Six. With a hastily doctored photograph that appeared to show Baltar carrying a bomb into the defence mainframe building on the day before the attack, Godfrey, now posing as Amarak's assistant, secured a direct meeting with President Laura Roslin and Commander William Adama. During the wait, Godfrey tried to seduce Adama, which only made him suspicious, and he ordered marines to watch her in case the affair was a deception. Baltar confronted her in a public head; she kept up her act, forced him out of her stall and then broke down in tears once the door was shut. The evidence was soon confirmed to be a forgery, with Gaeta remarking that the signs of tampering were almost too easy to find, and the marines were ordered to detain her. Baltar's Head Six, the vision only he could see, had walked out on him just before Godfrey turned up, and came back once she was gone. (Battlestar Galactica, "Six Degrees of Separation")

Fate#

As she was walking down a causeway, Godfrey was dragged away by Galactica Cavil, who used another Six as a diversion to give the impression that she had simply vanished. Angry at her failure to kill Baltar when she had the chance, Cavil overrode her protests and forced her through an airlock, telling her to alert the Cylon fleet to the fleet's location. Cavil and another Six suggested she had made her forgery easy to expose because she was drawn to Baltar. Her photo later turned up in President Roslin's dossier of identified humanoid Cylons.
