Dr. Amarak was a Colonial government scientist who worked at the Ministry of Defense alongside Gaius Baltar. He asked to warn President Roslin about a betrayal and was presumed killed aboard the Olympic Carrier.

In the days after the Fall of the Twelve Colonies he asked for a meeting with President Laura Roslin, apparently to tell her about a traitor, and was presumed killed aboard the Olympic Carrier before it could happen. Biography#
Dr. Amarak was travelling aboard the Olympic Carrier at the time of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. The ship joined President Roslin's civilian fleet and fled with it after meeting up with the battlestar Galactica. (Battlestar Galactica miniseries; Battlestar Galactica, "33")
During the days of relentless Cylon attacks that followed, Amarak sent a request to Colonial One, through the President's aide Billy, for a meeting with Roslin. He was said to have information about how humanity had been betrayed, and news of the request sent Baltar into a panic. (Battlestar Galactica, "33")
Death#
The fleet was jumping every thirty-three minutes to escape the pursuing Cylons when the Olympic Carrier failed to make one of the jumps, and that was the one time the Cylons didn't follow. When it caught up again, it ignored orders, showed signs of carrying a nuclear warhead, and closed on the fleet, so Apollo and Starbuck destroyed it. Amarak was presumed killed with everyone aboard. Whether Amarak was really on the ship, or whether his name was being used by the Cylons, was never made clear. A Number Six calling herself Shelly Godfrey later turned up on Galactica claiming to be his assistant, with faked evidence against Baltar. He's never seen on screen, and his claim mostly serves to drive Baltar's panic in the episode "33". (Battlestar Galactica, "33"; "Six Degrees of Separation")

The battlestar was the Colonial Fleet's capital ship, an armoured battleship and carrier hybrid. The wartime battlestars relied on unnetworked computers, carried squadrons of fighters, and were armoured to survive nuclear blasts.
Colonial One
Colonial One was a civilian passenger liner that became the official residence and workplace of the President of the United Colonies of Kobol after the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. Formerly Colonial Heavy 798, it served as the seat of the surviving government throughout the search for Earth.
