The ship was secretly appropriated by Admiral Adama and given to Kara Thrace for her mission to find a route back to Earth. For the voyage the vessel carried a much smaller detached crew of around sixteen, supported by a flight of Vipers and a Raptor, with Thrace in command and Karl Agathon as her executive officer.
Damage#
Demetrius was later damaged when a Cylon fighter it was in the process of docking with exploded. The blast killed Gunnery Sergeant Erin Mathias. The ship was ultimately scuttled in the Sol system as the journey of the Fleet came to its close.
