Prometheus: civilian freighter and black market hub

Prometheus was a civilian cargo ship that survived the Fall of the Twelve Colonies and joined the ragtag fleet led by Galactica. Shortly before the colonization of New Caprica, the Prometheus served as the fleet's black market hub, a place where illicit goods of every kind could be bartered, sold, or bought.

A haven for the black market#

Having escaped the Cyrannus star system in the refugee fleet led by Colonial One and Galactica, Prometheus developed an open port policy that made it home to black marketeering. After the murder of Jack Fisk, commanding officer of Pegasus, the Colonial Fleet adopted a tighter policy on the trade. Prometheus was allowed to continue its service, but its sellers were threatened with severe punishment should murder, the price-gouging of medicines, or child prostitution continue.

Service to the fleet#

Later, after the fleet survived the Passage, the ship landed on the algae planet, where it assisted with the transport of food and other gathered supplies. Shortly after lifting off from the surface, Prometheus executed an FTL jump to emergency standby coordinates while Galactica held position until all planet-based personnel had been evacuated.

Fate#

Prometheus survived the entire exodus of the fleet. In the end the ship was scuttled in the Sol system by Samuel T. Anders.
