Striker was a research vessel built on the Celestra-type hull, measuring 499.0 meters in length with a beam of 193.3 meters and a height of 176.4 meters. It carried a single hangar bay and was driven by a sublight engine with maneuvering thrusters, and it was equipped with a faster-than-light drive.
Collision with the Daru Mozu#
A couple of days after the ragtag fleet found the mythical planet of Kobol, Striker collided with the fuel tanker Daru Mozu while Captain George "Catman" Birch was performing the role of CAG for Galactica. Although Striker itself appeared undamaged, the Daru Mozu's wireless went silent and the tanker entered an uncontrolled spin following the collision, forcing Galactica to dispatch a repair team to the stricken vessel. Striker remained with the fleet and survived.
