Stealthstar
Colonial reconnaissance fighter
The Stealthstar was a Colonial infiltration fighter derived from the Viper, used shortly before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies to probe Cylon space across the Armistice Line.
The Stealthstar was a type of Colonial advanced infiltration fighter in service shortly before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. Derived from Viper lineage, it shared many of the same parts as the standard Colonial space superiority fighter, and it was used to probe Cylon space across the Armistice Line.
Design#
The Stealthstar stemmed from Viper lineage and shared many of the same parts as the Colonial Viper-type space superiority fighter. It was built as an advanced infiltration craft, and on DRADIS it carried the designation "S-Star".
The Armistice Line reconnaissance#
Lieutenant Daniel "Bulldog" Novacek piloted a Stealthstar across the Armistice Line to determine whether the Cylons were building up their forces for a possible invasion of the Twelve Colonies. Although the craft was stealthy in design, the Battlestar Valkyrie, from which Novacek had deployed, maintained a clear DRADIS lock on it, implying that some transponder kept it in communication with Colonial forces.
Loss in Cylon space#
An unknown vessel, presumed to be Cylon, jumped in and attacked the Stealthstar. Because it was imperative that the craft not be discovered in Cylon space, Commander William Adama ordered a missile strike against it. The destruction of the fighter ensured that the Colonial incursion across the Armistice Line left no recoverable trace.
