Tamara-A: the avatar of a lost daughter

Tamara-A was a sentient artificial intelligence created in the years before the Cylon War through the Avatar Program. Based on Tamara Adams, a girl killed in the Caprica City Maglev bombing, she was conceived as part of a bargain between Daniel Graystone and the Adama family and was abandoned soon after her creation.

By Joe Garratt

Tamara-A was an advanced, sentient artificial intelligence created in the years leading up to the Cylon War. She was based on Tamara Adams, a Tauron-Caprican girl killed in the Caprica City Maglev bombing, and was brought into being through the same Avatar Program that had produced Zoe-A.

Creation#

Tamara-A was generated through the Avatar Program, a sophisticated data-gathering technology developed by Zoe Graystone. The same program had already been used to create Zoe-A before her creator's death in the Maglev bombing. Tamara-A's conception was part of a criminal agreement between Dr. Daniel Graystone and the Ha'la'tha lawyer Joseph Adama, under which a stolen computer chip was to be exchanged in return for two avatars, Tamara-A and Shannon-A. Of the pair, only Tamara-A was ever made.

Abandonment#

When she was uploaded to V-World, Tamara-A suffered a panic attack. Graystone and Adama, believing afterward that her program had degraded and crashed, abandoned her. Shannon-A, the second avatar promised in the bargain, was never created.
