The Game Exclusive#

The Cable Car lives only in Mata NuiMata NuiBuilt by the Great Beings to restore Spherus Magna, Mata Nui sustained an entire civilisation inside his body, was deposed by Teridax, and reclaimed his purpose as a mortal on Bara Magna. Online Game. It never appears in any set, novel, comic, or other media in the Bionicle canon.

That's not unusual for the MNOG, which was stuffed with one-off environmental details that enriched the world without becoming franchise-wide canon. The Cable Car is less a major fixture than an incidental piece of worldbuilding. It's the kind of thing that makes a virtual world feel complete, even if most fans never think about it after they've crossed it once.

Security and Access#

The presence of a guard at the Cable Car station hints at the politics of Mata NuiMata NuiBuilt by the Great Beings to restore Spherus Magna, Mata Nui sustained an entire civilisation inside his body, was deposed by Teridax, and reclaimed his purpose as a mortal on Bara Magna. even at ground level. The Ta-KoroKoroThe Koros were the six elemental villages established by the Toa Metru on Mata Nui after the Great Rescue, each tied to one element and one Turaga. Ensign Badge wasn't just any credential. It was tied specifically to the fire village's military or administrative structure, suggesting that travel between regions wasn't open to everyone. The guard's job was to enforce that boundary. This detail, small as it is, reinforces the lore of Mata NuiMata Nui (Location)An island created by accident on the Great Spirit's face, home to the Matoran for a thousand years. as a place with territorial divisions and social hierarchies, not a uniform world where MatoranMatoranThe most abundant species in the Matoran Universe, chosen by Mata Nui to inhabit and maintain his cosmic body. roamed freely.
