It can reconfigure into four distinct forms: a hand, a shield, a drill, or a jackhammer. The weapon integrates directly into the Toa's limb, becoming part of their biomechanical body rather than a removable tool they could lose in combat.
Forms and Function#

The Earth Claw's real strength is adaptability. An Earth Toa could deploy it as a functional hand for everyday use, shift it into a shield for defense, extend it as a drill for tunneling and excavation work, or activate it as a jackhammer for breaking stone. This modular approach mirrors the elemental Toa's dual need for utility and combat readiness. Each form has a concrete purpose. A hand lets you manipulate your environment. A shield protects you. A drill lets you move through earth. A jackhammer breaks barriers.
The limb integration distinguishes this design. Rather than carrying a detachable weapon, the Toa's Earth Claw becomes part of their anatomy. This ties the tool directly to the wielder's elemental reserves. It means the weapon can't be lost or disarmed. It means the tool responds to the Toa's will as naturally as their own limb would.

Many fan creations never appear in official material. They shape the expanded lore anyway. The Earth Claw represents how fan designers have explored possibilities the official canon left untouched. Standard Toa weapons tend toward single-form specialization. This design asks what becomes possible when you prioritize transformation instead.
