When the warrior BotarBotarThe Order of Mata Nui's teleporting enforcer hunted universe-threatening dangers and locked them in the Pit until a Makuta's magnetic power stopped him cold. was killed, his body was teleported to the Red Star, where the Kestora implanted his consciousness inside a new body, but the damaged teleportation systems prevented his return.

In time, KopakaKopakaKopaka was the Toa Nuva of Ice, deputy commander of the Toa Mata, and one of the six warriors crafted on Artakha to defend the Matoran Universe. and PohatuPohatuPohatu was the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva of Stone, guardian of Po-Wahi, whose speed and steady humour anchored the team through every era of the Matoran Universe. convinced Gaardus to teleport them into the Star, where they encountered a group of Kestora. One of them recognized Gaardus, and the Kestora drew their weapons, identifying themselves as the ones who kept the place operating and accusing Gaardus of being the reason it had not functioned for a very long time. When the Kestora raised their weapons and began to squeeze the triggers, Pohatu disarmed all three of them in an instant.

A faction of Kestora also resided in the City of Silver Pocket Dimension, where they attacked the city's original builders and took it as their own, leaving only one surviving inhabitant.
