When Teridax learned of the discovery of the Avohkii, the Mask of Light, he sought to kill its herald and seize the Kanohi before the coming of the Seventh Toa. To that end he released and introduced three Rahkshi: Panrahk, Guurahk, and Lerahk. The trio was tasked with finding the mask's bearer and preventing anyone from claiming the Avohkii.
The three Rahkshi descended on Ta-Koro and helped destroy the city, then pursued the Matoran Takua and Jaller toward Po-Koro. The Toa Nuva moved to stop them. During the chase, Kopaka fought the Rahkshi on a mountain slope so that the Matoran could escape downhill, and after blocking a hard blow from Panrahk he leapt down the cliff after them, using his Ice Blades as skates.
When Teridax later summoned all six Rahkshi, including Vorahk, Kurahk, and Turahk, the Toa Nuva confronted them in a final clash. Sheltered at first behind Tahu's Hau Nuva, the Toa dropped the shield and united their powers. Panrahk, Guurahk, and Lerahk were trapped in glass, while Vorahk and Kurahk were frozen after being showered with lava.
