Vengeance (Dark Hunter)

A Dark Hunter with unknown origins whose name masks the obscurity of his true identity and purpose.

By Lore Fortress Editorial
Vengeance 2

Vengeance stands out among the Dark Hunters primarily because almost nothing about him stands out. His name is straightforward, his role was straightforward, and his existence in the broader Bionicle narrative is footnoted at best. Yet what makes Vengeance worth noting is exactly this absence of definition. A Dark Hunter recruited by The Shadowed OneThe Shadowed OneThe Shadowed One is the leader of the Dark Hunters, a black, yellow, and silver figure based on Spherus Magna. Armed with a staff and a Rhotuka, the Shadowed One directs the organization., his species remains unknown, his origins unexplained, and his true capabilities never fully revealed. He's the anti-spectacular operative in an organization built on mercenaries with absurd powers.

Vengeance's file, by contrast, reads like a placeholder. No special abilities documented by the few sources that acknowledge his existence at all.

He exists in the narrative as an absence, a confirmation that he made it out, and then nothing.

What's almost interesting is that this obscurity might be the point. In an organization of killers and specialists, a hunter who leaves no record might be the most effective one. Or Vengeance could simply be a soldier whose story the canon never had reason to tell. Either way, he endured when the universe didn't.
