Maintenance Deck
Shuttle Maintenance Deck of the USG Ishimura
The Maintenance Deck of the USG Ishimura was where the ship's shuttles were serviced and its maintenance shuttles were docked. Its hangars could be opened by hand if their control rooms failed, and it held crew sleeping quarters on a separate floor.
The Maintenance Deck was a deck of the USG Ishimura given over to the servicing of the ship's shuttles and the docking of its maintenance shuttles. Its hangars were built so that they could be opened by hand should their control rooms be damaged, and a separate floor held crew sleeping quarters.
Layout#
The Maintenance Deck was reached through a single Tram Station, which held an information and communications terminal as well as an elevator that connected the deck's floors. From the Tram Station an elevator led to the Shuttle Bay Hall, a long hallway lined with storage rooms and opening onto three shuttle bays, numbered 46, 47, and 48. Several Sleep Blocks, the crew sleeping quarters, were set on another floor of the deck.
Shuttle Bay 47#
Shuttle Bay 47 was a large, wide-open hangar built across two levels, the lower reached from the upper by a cargo lift. The upper level housed Maintenance Shuttle 23 and a control room, while the lower level held the launch hatch and a zero-gravity control terminal that made the bay easier to move through. Should the control room console be damaged, the hatch could still be opened by hand by destroying the four power cores set on the lower level. Of the three bays on the deck, Shuttle Bay 47 was the only one known to contain a shuttle.
