USG Kellion
CEC Shuttle Sent to the Ishimura
The USG Kellion was a CEC shuttle that carried Zach Hammond''s emergency maintenance team to the silent USG Ishimura in 2508, crash-landed in its Flight Deck, and was destroyed soon after the outbreak was discovered.
The USG Kellion was a shuttle of the Concordance Extraction Corporation that carried an emergency maintenance team under Zach Hammond to the silent USG Ishimura in 2508. Among the team were the engineer Isaac Clarke and the computer specialist Kendra Daniels, and the loss of the Kellion left them stranded aboard the stricken planet cracker.
The mission to the Ishimura#
The Kellion was sent out as part of a CEC emergency maintenance mission to find and fix the cause of the Ishimura's communications blackout, the ship having fallen silent and then issued a distress call. After completing its shockpoint into the system, the Kellion approached the much larger planet cracker, which failed to answer its repeated hails. The shuttle attempted to enter through an automatic docking procedure, but a drifting piece of planetary debris smashed into its starboard bow and slid across to port, knocking out both docking and autopilot and forcing an emergency landing inside the Ishimura's Flight Deck hangar.
Destruction#
After the team was attacked and the Necromorph outbreak was uncovered, Hammond sent Isaac Clarke back to the Kellion to help ready it for launch alongside Corporal Hailey Johnston, who had stayed aboard. As Isaac worked through a damage report, several Leapers tore into the shuttle's singularity core, setting off a chain of explosions through the vessel. Johnston was killed and Isaac was thrown clear onto the Flight Deck as the Kellion exploded and dropped to the floor of the hangar, destroyed.
Design#
The Kellion was built along lines similar to the Ishimura's own shuttles, the chief difference being a quad-booster array fixed to the main body, which likely housed its singularity core and ShockPoint Drive systems. It also carried armor plating that could slide down over the cockpit windows to protect the occupants in an emergency.
Frequently asked questions
- What was the USG Kellion?
- The USG Kellion was a Concordance Extraction Corporation shuttle that carried an emergency maintenance team under Zach Hammond to the USG Ishimura in 2508. It was dispatched to find and repair the cause of the planet cracker's communications blackout after the larger ship sent a distress call.
- What happened to the USG Kellion?
- While attempting an automatic docking with the unresponsive Ishimura, the Kellion was struck by drifting planetary debris that disabled its docking and autopilot, forcing a crash-landing in the Flight Deck hangar. Soon after the outbreak was discovered, Leapers destroyed the shuttle's singularity core, killing Corporal Johnston and wrecking the vessel.
- Who was aboard the USG Kellion?
- The Kellion carried a CEC maintenance team led by Chief Security Officer Zach Hammond and including the engineer Isaac Clarke and the computer specialist Kendra Daniels, along with the corporals Aiden Chen and Hailey Johnston.
