Hikaru: the Exo-Force Pilot Who Broke Orders
Hikaru is Exo-Force's cool-headed tactician and marksman, the pilot of the Stealth Hunter, who risked expulsion to fly into robot territory on a rescue nobody had attempted before.
Hikaru is the thinker among the Exo-Force pilots: a tactician and marksman who stays calm under fire and tends to work alone. He's also the one who starts the first big story of the theme, by noticing something in an enemy's flying that shouldn't be there and refusing to leave it alone. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)
The rescue mission#
The story opens with Hikaru jumped by a lone Fire Vulture near base. He wins by hiding his Stealth Hunter in a cloud and shooting the enemy down when it comes looking, but one thing bothers him. The robot used a manoeuvre he's only ever seen one human pilot fly. Old recordings confirm it: the move belonged to Takeshi's father, who was lost when the robots took the south. Keiken forbids a rescue and warns that disobedience means expulsion. Hikaru goes anyway, using a dawn patrol as cover. On the way he stops to destroy an attack force heading for the Tenchi Bridge, even though it gives away his position. Deep in the south he finds the man alive in a robot lab, learns that the robots copied his skills with a scanner, and cuts his way out with Takeshi's mother and sister as well. The escape is pure Hikaru. Low on power and facing a Sonic Phantom, he flies straight at it, betting that a logical pilot will break away first. It does, and he opens up its underside with his electro sword. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)
The Silent Strike and Sentai Fortress#
When he lands, Keiken tells him the Stealth Hunter is no longer his. It's a fake-out. Ryo rolls out the Silent Strike, a faster and deadlier replacement, as a reward. Hikaru struggles to master it in time for the Striking Venom's attack, but in that battle he drags the machine to its limit to catch Takeshi's falling Grand Titan before it hits the fortress, then draws the walker's fire while Takeshi lines up the shot that stops it. The Golden City#
Hikaru, Takeshi and Ryo make the climb to find the Golden City. When the robots attack he takes the Sky Guardian, which is so fast it diverts all its power to speed and leaves him unable to fire until he works out how to slow it down. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)
