Sentai Mountain: the Split Peak Where Exo-Force Is Set

Sentai Mountain is the whole world of LEGO Exo-Force, a peak split in two by a robot rebellion, with the humans in the north, the robots in the south and a few bridges deciding the war.

By Joe Garratt

Sentai Mountain is where everything in LEGO Exo-Force happens. There's no wider world in the story, no other countries and no outside help. A single split peak holds the whole war, which is part of why the theme feels so tight. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)

Two halves and a gorge#

Before the war the mountain was shared. Robots mined and built, humans maintained them, and both sides prospered. Meca One's rebellion ended that and the fighting split the peak. The humans forced the robots over the edge into the gorge, thinking that was the end of it, but the machines rebuilt at the bottom and returned. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)

After the second rebellion the line settled. The humans held the northern half. The southern half became robot territory, and the people who didn't escape were put to work there. When Hikaru flies south in the first arc he sees homes and farms replaced by factories and mines, with prisoners working in them without protection. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)

Sentai Fortress and the bridges#

Sentai Fortress is the Exo-Force base for the 2006 story, and it was also one of the two largest sets of that year's range. The bridges are why it matters. Any robot attack on the human half has to cross the gorge, so Exo-Force spends the first arc defending the crossings, the Tenchi Bridge above all. The story's first great battle ends at the fortress gate, and it leaves the place too damaged to hold. (LEGO Exo-Force sets)

The Golden City#

High on the mountain, hidden by an invisibility field, is the Golden City. It wasn't built by the humans or the robots, and its makers are never identified. Its computer holds technology and history behind a series of codes, and the Golden Tower at its centre can project a force field. The humans move there once Sentai Fortress can no longer be defended, believing the terrain will protect them. That lasts until Meca One finds a code that extends a bridge from his side of the mountain to theirs. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)

The jungle#

The final arc moves to the jungle at the base of the mountain. A message from Sensei Keiken reveals that he found ancient technology there and used it to build the first golden robot. The theme ended before that mystery could be followed through, so what lies in the jungle stays unexplained. Read the rest in the story explained. (LEGO Exo-Force online comics)

Frequently asked questions

Where does Exo-Force take place?
All of it takes place on and around Sentai Mountain. The story moves from Sentai Fortress up to the Golden City near the top and then down to the jungle at the foot of the mountain.
Why is Sentai Mountain split in two?
The fighting in the first robot rebellion split the mountain, leaving a deep gorge between the northern and southern halves.
What is the Tenchi Bridge?
The most important of the bridges across the gorge. Exo-Force's early battles are mostly about stopping the robots from crossing it to reach Sentai Fortress.
