The Dauntless Plateau was a raised position on Char from which General Horace Warfield directed the Dominion purge of the zerg after Kerrigan was deinfested. The reforming Swarm overran it, killing Warfield and reclaiming the world for the Swarm.
The Dauntless Plateau was a raised position on the volcanic world of Char. Its only surface approach lay through the Bone Trench to its north, making it a defensible strongpoint during the campaigns fought across the planet in the Second Great War.
A Dominion stronghold#
During the Second Great War, the Terran Dominion established a base on the Dauntless Plateau following the terran attack on Char that deinfested Sarah Kerrigan. From there General Horace Warfield oversaw the purge of the remaining zerg following the fragmentation of the Swarm. The Zagara Brood suffered heavy losses in failed assaults toward the plateau, with terran Gorgon-class battlecruisers decisively stopping the attacks in the Bone Trench.
The Swarm reclaims Char#
The reforming Swarm, led by Kerrigan, succeeded in forcing the Bone Trench and assaulting the plateau directly. The zerg overran the base, General Warfield was killed, and the surviving terrans fled. With the fall of the Dauntless Plateau, Char was reclaimed for the Swarm.
