The Cybele was a Scylla-type trans colony freighter in service with the United Colonies of Kobol that survived the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. Escape from Gemenon#
In the opening hours of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, the Cybele took off from Gemenon carrying refugees fleeing the Cylon Raider airstrikes and nuclear detonations. Among the refugees were Simon O'Neill, a humanoid Cylon, and his adoptive daughter Jemmy. Once clear of the colony, the Cybele linked up with the refugee fleet that had formed near Caprica.
Service with the fleet#
The Cybele joined the surviving ships under Roslin and continued with them on their long flight. Simon O'Neill's wife, Giana, had survived the Fall of the colonies separately and later joined the Colonial Fleet as a deck hand to replace personnel lost in the attack. She was eventually reunited with her husband and stepdaughter aboard the fleet. The Cybele remained among the surviving vessels until it was scuttled around 4 ACH in the Sol System.
