Ragnar Anchorage was a Colonial supply depot in orbit of the upper atmosphere of the gas giant Ragnar, in the Cyrannus star system. A Daidalos-type munitions depot affiliated with the Colonial Fleet of the United Colonies of Kobol, it had largely fallen into disrepair and was semi-abandoned, with no active presence, by the time of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. It nonetheless became the staging ground where Galactica rearmed and the surviving civilian fleet gathered before fleeing into deep space.
Overview#
Ragnar Anchorage was a Daidalos-type station that served the Colonial Fleet as a munitions depot, stationed in orbit of the upper atmosphere of the gas giant Ragnar. Protected by armor plating and equipped with maneuvering thrusters, the station had largely fallen into disrepair by the time of the Fall, with the Fleet maintaining no active presence there.
The Fall of the Twelve Colonies#
During the Fall, the battlestar Galactica visited Ragnar Anchorage to rearm and resupply. As the crew collected munitions, they discovered a man named Leoben Conoy, who claimed to be an arms dealer. After meeting him, Commander William Adama deduced that Conoy was in fact a Cylon agent, and that his visible fatigue was caused by his Cylon anatomy being susceptible to a particular radiation emitted by the planet.
While Galactica was docked at the station, a civilian fleet led by Secretary of Education turned President Laura Roslin arrived to seek shelter from the Cylon forces. Though initially hesitant to help, Adama was persuaded by Roslin to abandon his plans for revenge and instead flee with the civilian fleet into deep space, in search of the mythical homeworld of the thirteen tribes of Kobol.
