Following the destruction of the Twelve Colonies of Man, the Rising Star began evacuating women and children from Caprica to join the refugee fleet bound for Earth. During this evacuation, Riftis, Elias and Karibdis bribed their way on board the ship, which necessitated leaving behind three children.

Design#

The Rising Star had access to shuttles on its lower side, which required boarding parties to enter by way of the engineering deck. Above this was a large passenger deck consisting largely of seats, arranged to maximise the number of occupants carried for transport. On the top deck was an elite class, where high paying passengers were able to have their own suites.
