Design and service#
The SCT-type was a standardized transport design; the designation itself comes from production material rather than on-screen dialogue. Each ship was driven by three sublight engines and a set of maneuvering thrusters, and carried an FTL drive for faster-than-light travel. Ships of the design were already in service by the ninth year of the First Cylon War, and several of the later survivors appear in modified form within the refugee fleet.
