Avohkii In Movie

The Avohkii was the Kanohi Mask of Light, a golden mask that gleamed even when it was not being worn. Locked within it was the power the Makuta most dreaded, and the unspoken promise of something far worse to them: the eventual existence of a true Toa of Light.

Artakha crafted the Avohkii thousands of years ago, around the same time he made the Kanohi Kraahkan, so that its powers would counter that mask. He intended it as a way to stop the Brotherhood of Makuta should they ever betray Mata Nui. The Brotherhood later stole the mask, and after its theft Artakha demanded that the Order of Mata Nui kill anyone who knew the location of his island and destroy any maps that revealed it.

The Toa Hagah Norik and Iruini wrested the Avohkii back from the Brotherhood and were determined to keep it safe. Together with the other Rahaga, they took refuge with it in the Archives of Metru Nui. The mask's destiny was bound to a single bearer: the Seventh Toa, the Toa of Light, who it was said would finally free the island of Makuta's shadow.

When the mask was at last recovered, Turaga Nokama used her Noble Kanohi Rau to translate the inscription upon it, announcing it to be the legendary Avohkii. Because the mask had shone its light on Jaller, the Turaga designated him the Herald of the Seventh Toa and charged him with the search for that Toa. The mask was ultimately worn by Takanuva, the Toa of Light.
