Cannon was designed for two uses. As a turret it stood at a height convenient for MatoranMatoranThe most abundant species in the Matoran Universe, chosen by Mata Nui to inhabit and maintain his cosmic body. and similar-sized species, and at the flip of a switch it became a hand-held weapon for larger beings such as Toa. Power came from a battery on one side, which fed energy through conducting tubes. The energy heated the plasma in the plasma tank and fed it into the barrel, where a force field held it in place. Once enough plasma had built up, the field dropped and the pressurised plasma was blasted forward. A laser on the cannon improved the accuracy of its shots; because the laser needed light, the weapon was normally used in daylight, and it was less accurate in the dark.
