The bay itself wasn't a major population center, but it was a natural crossroads where two ecosystems met. As a boundary zone, it would have served travelers and Le-MatoranLe-MatoranGreen-powered Matoran obsessed with thrills and transport. They're basically Bionicle's daredevils. living in the jungle region. The fact that it earned an entry in the BIONICLEBIONICLE: Matoran AdventuresA 2002 GBA platformer where you play as one of six Matoran fighting Bohrok across Mata Nui's islands. Encyclopedia suggests the designers thought it worth mapping, even if the narrative rarely lingered there.
Geography and Function#

Kanae Bay sat at the intersection of jungle and ocean, making it a natural border zone. That alone gave it significance, however quiet.
