Kualus
Kualus is a Toa of Ice and member of the Toa Hagah, formerly serving as one of the elite bodyguards of Makuta Teridax before dedicating himself to the protection of the Matoran. White and metallic blue in color, he wields a Sub-Zero Spear and a Rhotuka Launching Shield, and wears the Great Mask of Rahi Control, granting him the power to direct the minds of animal life. He resides on Spherus Magna.

Among Kualus's defining traits is his command of the language of the flying RahiRahiThe Rahi were the biomechanical wildlife of the Matoran Universe, built largely by the Brotherhood of Makuta, ranging from background fauna to engineered war beasts.. He communicates with birds through a series of clicks and whistling sounds, a habit that puzzled his teammate Nuju, who once questioned his behavior until Kualus explained he was speaking with two birds above them. On a later mission he revealed this same gift to Nuju openly.
Like the rest of his team, Kualus was eventually transformed into one of the Rahaga, a fate connected to events long before the Great Cataclysm that devastated Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive.. While buried beneath rubble in a coma, he dreamed of those earlier days and the reason the Rahaga remained on the island.
During the VisorakVisorak (Rahi)Spider-like Rahi employed by the Brotherhood of Makuta whose name meant 'Stealers of Life' and whose swarms threatened the Matoran Universe. siege of Metru Nui, Kualus operated alongside Nuju, Whenua, and Bomonga within the Archives. When a Kahgarak threw Nuju through a wall, Kualus warned the others that the creature was close behind and urged them to run; Nuju turned the Visorak's own Rhotuka back upon it, banishing the beast into the Zone of Darkness. The group was later dug out of the debris by Vakama and Onewa. As one of the six Rahaga alongside Norik, Gaaki, Bomonga, Pouks, and Iruini, Kualus shared in their work guiding the Toa Hordika and recounting the legend of Keetongu.
