The Mask of Healing is a KanohiKanohiMasks that grant powers and sustain life, they're the most vital artifact in the Matoran Universe. that lets its wearer heal other beings, though not themselves. It never appears in a book, comic, film or serial. Everything known about it comes from writer Greg Farshtey's online answers after a fan suggested the mask and a fan poll picked it, so this page reports those answers as the writer's later comments rather than story fact. Function#

According to Farshtey's online answers, the Great Mask of Healing lets its wearer heal another being's injuries or illnesses, but never the wearer's own. The wearer needs at least a basic understanding of the wound or illness being treated, and how fast the healing works depends on the user's willpower and on the condition itself. The Toa Mangai wearer#

Farshtey's answers assign the Great Mask of Healing to the Toa Mangai of the Green, an unnamed member of LhikanLhikanToa of Fire, leader of the Toa Mangai, and the last Toa of Metru Nui, who surrendered his Toa Power to create the Toa Metru and died defending Vakama.'s team whose element was itself settled by a fan poll. Origin and design#

The Mask of Healing belongs to the group of fan-created KanohiKanohiMasks that grant powers and sustain life, they're the most vital artifact in the Matoran Universe. that Farshtey accepted into the canon, alongside masks such as Aging, Biomechanics and Conjuring. It was suggested by a fan and put to a vote, and its power was based on the healing RhotukaRhotukaRhotuka were wheels of pure energy generated by living beings, shaped by the user's nature, and launched through natural or artificial launchers. that Farshtey had described for Toa HagahToa HagahElite Toa teams appointed by the Brotherhood of Makuta to serve as personal guardians, later rebelling against their creators. IruiniIruiniIruini is a Toa of Air, formerly a Le-Matoran and a member of the Toa Hagah who served as bodyguard to Makuta Teridax. He wears the Great Kualsi, wields a Cyclone Spear and Rhotuka Launching Shield with a healing Rhotuka, and resides on Spherus Magna as a Rahi Hunter and protector of Matoran.. Healing powers are rare in the published story. The best-known cure in the Matoran UniverseMatoran UniverseA civilization of biomechanical beings living inside a colossal robot, destroyed when Teridax seized control. is KeetonguKeetonguThe legendary Rahi who broke the Visorak siege and lived to prove he was worth the legend., the Rahi who reversed the Toa Metru's mutation into Toa HordikaToa HordikaToa mutated by Visorak venom into bestial hybrids, forced to fight their primal nature and hunt for a cure.. Noble variant#

In a later interview, Farshtey compared the Noble Mask of Healing to a first aid kit. It can give temporary relief to injuries but cannot heal them completely, which would make it a stopgap rather than a cure. No story shows one in use. (Writer's later comment, not a published story)
