Dark Hunters came at them with relentless aggression, hunting them methodically through Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive.'s districts. The KanohiKanohiMasks that grant powers and sustain life, they're the most vital artifact in the Matoran Universe. Dragon hunted too, a creature of power and chaos. But the worst threat, the one that actually broke them, came from within their own ranks. NidhikiNidhikiOnce a guardian of Metru Nui, Nidhiki traded his Toa honor for Dark Hunter gold and paid the price., one of their own Toa, turned. He accepted the Dark Hunters' offer, became one of them, sold out his team for whatever they promised him. That single betrayal shattered something fragile that couldn't be rebuilt quickly enough. Some had died in combat. Others had vanished without trace. What they'd built together was already crumbling. The city they'd tried to protect was rotting from inside, and they weren't there anymore to fight it.
