Abraham Neumann
P-Sec operative on Aegis VII
Abraham Howard Neumann was a security operative in the Aegis VII colony who suspected the Red Marker was behind the madness spreading among the colonists. He survived the early outbreak but vanished after fleeing the infested communications needle.
Abraham Howard Neumann was a devoted Planetary Security operative in the colony on Aegis VII, one of the first to suspect that the Red Marker recovered from the planet was the cause of the violence and madness consuming the settlement. He lived through the early days of the Necromorph outbreak there but disappeared from the record after fleeing the colony's infested communications needle.
Aegis VII#
Neumann served as a security operative in the colony established on Aegis VII to support the planet-cracking work of the Concordance Extraction Corporation. As the troubles in the colony worsened, he grew suspicious of the Red Marker, coming to believe that the artifact was behind the incidents of violence and insanity afflicting the colonists. He urged the colony's manager, Hanford Carthusia, several times to abandon the mining operation, but his appeals fell on deaf ears.
The outbreak#
When the Necromorphs began appearing and attacking the colonists, Neumann and Marla Janssen tried to evacuate the planet. They found themselves stranded when the shuttles were destroyed in an accident, and the two resolved to reach the colony's communications needle in order to contact the USG Ishimura in orbit.
After entering the needle, the pair discovered that the Necromorph Corruption had spread through it. Neumann asked Marla whether she could repair the structure, but she showed distress, noting that the Corruption might have damaged it beyond repair. The two then entered a room and found a mass of Corruption with human corpses being absorbed into it. Neumann recognized one of the deformed faces as that of a man named Cortez and was overcome with disbelief.
Disappearance#
A group of Slashers appeared and chased the pair through the needle. Marla snapped Neumann out of his shock and they ran for a doorway, but before she could reach it she was impaled through the back by one of the creatures. In an act of selflessness she pushed Neumann through the door and locked it, sealing herself in with the Necromorphs as he was forced to watch. Neumann survived the moment, but no record of what became of him afterward was ever recovered.
