Aegis VII Miner Driven Mad by the Marker
Hans Leggio was a miner on Aegis VII who fell under the dementia spread by Marker 3A, murdered members of his own dig team, and was taken aboard the USG Ishimura, where he died during the outbreak and rose again as a Necromorph.
Hans Leggio was a miner on Aegis VII and one of the colonists driven to madness by the dementia that spread from Marker 3A. His killings forced his transfer aboard the USG Ishimura, where he died during the Necromorph outbreak and rose again as one of the creatures.
The Second Aegis VII Incident#
Hans Leggio belonged to the Aegis VII Colony and worked on one of its dig teams. Two weeks before the planet crack, under the growing influence of Marker 3A, he murdered one member of his dig team and killed another with what appeared to be a Contact Beam. He was arrested for the killings, and after the USG Ishimura arrived he was taken aboard the ship.
Leggio was placed in the care of Dr. Terrence Kyne and the direct charge of one of the ship''s nurses. He was given a very high dose of sedatives, which only partly calmed him. In a more stable moment he told the nurse that he heard voices in his head and asked whether she heard them too; she explained that the sedatives sometimes caused hallucinations, but he continued to strain against his restraints. The noises drove him to complete insanity, and he worked his hands free and began bashing his own temple with his fist hard enough to draw blood. Kyne threw himself on Leggio to keep him from killing himself, called for the nurse''s help, and injected another sedative until Leggio''s breathing slowed and he fell asleep.
Death and reanimation#
Later, during the Necromorph infestation, Leggio awoke in the medical lab and heard a strange growling outside. Following a trail of blood, he came to the Morgue and found several Infectors turning corpses into Slashers. The Slashers saw him and advanced; he turned to run, trying to stay quiet, but was fatally stabbed by a Pregnant, which lifted him into the air and finished him with another stab as he bled out.
When P.C.S.I. security officers reached the Morgue, they found Leggio''s torn and mutated body and took it for an ordinary corpse. As the team dispersed, Leggio rose as a Slasher and mortally wounded one of the officers, a man named Dobbs, before he collapsed and was torn to pieces by the volume of fire from the rest of the team.
