Endion

Protoss Research Moon

Endion was a forest moon orbiting Bellum IV that served the protoss as a secluded research retreat for millennia. During the End War it was infested by Amon's brood and ultimately scoured of all life by a purification beam fired from Cybros.

Endion was a forest moon orbiting Bellum IV, used by the protoss as a research retreat for millennia. It was here that the greatest protoss scientists secluded themselves from political affairs, and here that the psionic matrix was first conceived. During the End War, Endion became a battleground when Amon's brood descended on it to stop the Daelaam from reactivating the Purifiers stored at the nearby world of Cybros.

A research retreat#

Endion served as a research retreat for millennia. The greatest protoss scientists secluded themselves there, away from political affairs, to focus on devising technology that would benefit the Protoss Empire. The psionic matrix was first conceived on the moon.

After the Purifier Rebellion, Endion was chosen as the world that Cybros was to orbit. The scientists of Endion constantly improved its stasis grid, which was sealed by complicated locking mechanisms that could only be destabilized by an artifact known as the Megalith.

The End War#

During the End War, Amon's zerg brood descended on Endion and overran its population along with the contingent of Templar assigned to defend it, infesting the forests. Using colossi developed on Endion, the protoss secured the area around the Megalith and warped in a nexus point. Phase-smith Karax activated the Megalith, which the protoss escorted to the stasis locks. Once the grid was down, Hierarch Artanis had all forces recalled from Endion's surface.

After a battle to purge the zerg and hybrid from Cybros, Executor Clolarion fired a purification beam from his station, purifying all life on Endion. All zerg presence on the surface was annihilated.
