Cybros

the home warship of the Purifiers

Cybros was the home warship and space platform of the Purifiers, a command vessel held in stasis above the moon Endion until Artanis reactivated its robotic warriors during the war against Amon.

By Joe Garratt

Cybros was the home warship and space platform of the Purifiers, the robotic warriors of the protoss. A command vessel dating back to well before the Great War, it held the deactivated Purifiers in stasis until they might be needed in the direst of circumstances.

A vessel held in stasis#

By order of the Conclave, the Purifiers were deactivated and placed aboard Cybros before being launched into space, to be reactivated only in the direst of circumstances. The moon Endion was chosen as the place where Cybros would be kept in stasis, secured by a megalith, and Khalai Caste scientists continued to improve the stasis grid over the years. The station stood as both a symbol of protoss scientific achievement and a reminder of its dangers.

Reactivation against Amon#

During the war between the forces of Amon and the Daelaam, Hierarch Artanis led his forces to the station to reactivate the Purifiers. Amon's zerg had already reached Endion, and a battle broke out between the two parties. The protoss fended off the zerg and awakened the machines by destroying the null circuits, after which the Purifiers scoured Endion from space before agreeing to join the protoss in the conflict, on the condition that they be treated as equals rather than slaves, with Talandar as their representative.

Center of Purifier power#

After its reactivation, Cybros became a center of research, design, and production for the Purifiers, turning out new and improved weapons and armaments to aid them and their protoss allies. The platform joined the unified protoss forces in the second invasion of Aiur, where it added its firepower to that of the Death Fleet and the Spear of Adun to destroy Amon's host body. One of the station's wings was later left abandoned.
