After the Cylon attack, Gemenon Liner 1701 was left in a spin and nearly without power. She was one of the first ships found by Colonial One, the government ship carrying Laura Roslin, as it gathered stranded civilian vessels. (Battlestar Galactica, miniseries)
Moments after she was found, two Cylon Raiders appeared and fired nuclear missiles at the little convoy. Captain Lee Adama used Colonial One's FTL drive to overload an energy coil stored in its hold, setting off an electromagnetic pulse that disarmed the warheads and that the Cylons' DRADIS read as a nuclear detonation.
