By Joe Garratt

Gemenon Liner 1701 was a Gemenon Liner 1701-type civilian cruiser in the service of the Gemenon Liners airline, and the namesake of her hull type.

After the Fall#

At some point after the Cylon attack, Gemenon Liner 1701 lost her main power and was left drifting in space alongside three other ships. She was found by Colonial One, the vessel carrying President Laura Roslin, as part of a group of four ships first encountered after the beginning of the attack.

The liner soon came under Cylon nuclear attack. To save her, Captain Adama triggered a massive electromagnetic pulse that shorted out the inbound nuclear warheads and caused heavy DRADIS jamming, fooling the Cylons into believing a nuclear detonation had occurred. Soon afterward, all passengers from Gemenon Liner 1701 were transferred to Colonial One and the ships departed the area.

Design#

Gemenon Liner 1701 was the namesake of her type, a hull design she shared with the Caprica Clipper. She measured 257.2 meters long, 43.8 meters wide, and 23.3 meters tall, driven by four sublight engines with maneuvering thrusters, and was faster-than-light capable.
