The Rebel Basestar was a Cylon basestar that allied with the Colonial Fleet during the Cylon Civil War. It became the center of the rebel uprising, survived a devastating ambush by the rival Cylon faction, and ultimately claimed asylum and joined the Fleet in its search for Earth, the first Cylon vessel to be welcomed into the human convoy.
The uprising#
The Rebel Basestar was the center of a Cylon uprising during the Cylon Civil War. Aboard it, the Two, Six and Eight models, joined by sentient Centurions, turned on and wiped out the Ones, Fours and Fives, who had supported the lobotomizing of the Cylon Raiders. The ship then rendezvoused with several other basestars that had been successfully hijacked, the rebel vessels gathering for mutual defense.
Ambush and the truce with humanity#
Soon after the rebels assembled, a fleet led by the Ones, Fours and Fives, having purged their own rebel complement, launched a massive attack. The Rebel Basestar was the sole survivor of that ambush. It took refuge in a gas giant, but it had been heavily damaged and its Raider complement was lost. A Two managed to make contact with the Colonial Fleet using a damaged Heavy Raider, and this contact led to a truce between the rebels and humanity.
The Battle of the Hub and joining the Fleet#
Following the truce, the Rebel Basestar led a combined Cylon and Colonial assault on the enemy Cylon forces at the Battle of the Hub, the attack aimed at the Resurrection Hub that allowed the Cylons to download and return from death. In the aftermath of the battle, the Rebel Basestar officially claimed asylum and joined the Fleet, accompanying the human convoy in its search for Earth.
Fate#
After the Battle of the Colony, the humanoid Cylon models abandoned the Rebel Basestar in favor of settling on another planet. The liberated Centurions were placed in complete control of the ship's functions and left to pursue their own destiny.
